TERI in the project proposes to provide consultancy services to TWU on obtaining VCS certification and generating carbon credits under ClimateSeed platform. The project can help upscale in achieving reduced carbon emissions that can be utilized for attaining carbon credits through existing carbon markets and includes developing a project development document and validation that is together documented in a project application along with the engagement with ClimateSeed for verification and project hosting.

Artificial Fruit ripening agents like Calcium Carbide are widely used for artificial banana fruit ripening which is harmful for both human being and environment due to presence of traces of arsenic and phosphorus.Lack of bio based easier and rapid methods for uniform ripening poses a major problem in the fruit industry. The proposed Project will explore and validate the indigenous knowledge on use of plant materials for ripening of banana.

An Anniversary Update report titled ‘Practices and Solutions: Accelerating Indian Industry Decarbonisation’ was launched at a COP28 side event in the presence of Professor Jim Skea, Chair of the IPCC, and Indian Business Leaders.
The report has been prepared with inputs from the signatory companies of the ‘Industry Charter for Near Zero Emissions Ambition by 2050’, a voluntary grouping of leading Indian businesses. The Industry Charter was launched in 2019 at the New York Climate Week with leading Indian businesses committed to a reduction of emissions.
