TERI proposes to demonstrate decentralised looming of jute using biomass gasifier based clean power solutions. To demonstrate this concept the project will take initiatives to establish two pilot processing- cum-decentralised jute business service centres with creation of micro entrepreneurs for decentralised jute looming in the target villages Bardrakoti and Amor of Purnea.
Under its CSR (corporate social responsibility) initiative, Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO) has embarked on setting up energy-based projects, which aid the energy needs of those areas that are in requirement of it. TERI has been working in the field of energy access for over 20 years.
MPCB is the nodal agency for state of Maharashtra to monitor air and water pollution in the state. They aspire to compile an report for their data on air quality for the year 2011-12 and review the report on water quality for the same financial year.
The main objective of this project is to raise awareness on opportunities of joint crediting mechanism and Japanese low-carbon technologies.
Nearly 1.3 billion people continue to remain without access to electricity and 2.6 billion do not have access to clean cooking facilities (World Energy Outlook, 2012).
Schoolchildren stay well informed about the importance of energy and its conservation through sources such as books, magazines, television and field visits. However, many of them remain unaware of how they can contribute to the initiative of conservation of resources.
The overall objective of the project is to reduce energy consumption with consequent reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of industrial sector in India. The specific objective of the project is to identify suitable low carbon energy-efficient technologies that are commercially available in industrialized country, viz.
Through this training workshop, TERI has taken the initiative of filling up the existing gap in the knowledge of green and sustainable technologies through offering advanced level training on the same and also creating awareness about various other sustainable technologies. It would be a residential workshop held at the RETREAT.
The increase in demand for energy in response to industrialization, urbanization, and societal affluence has led to considerable fossil fuels burning, which in turn has an adverse impact on the environment. Thus, it is of paramount importance that energy is conserved and efficiently used.
With the increasing prices of diesel, the cost of electric power becomes high and the need of power can be met through Solar PV system. Therefore, TERI proposes to carry out a feasibility study on the installation of Solar PV power system for the railway stations and level crossing gates on Bharuch Dahej line of Bharuch Dahej Railway Company Limited in Gujarat.
