The project objectives are to analyze the tender coconut husk in its available form and to analyze its fuel properties. This project aims to study various aspects for using tender coconut husk as clean combustion fuel in domestic stoves and to promote smokeless and environment-friendly practices in rural house holds.
The overall objective of the project is to train and develop about 400 solar technicians cum entrepreneurs and around 100 trained trainers.
Following the release of India¿s National Action Plan on Climate Change in June 2008, the State Governments are in the process of preparing their State Action Plans on Climate Change (SAPCC).
This training programme aims at sensitizing participants on decentralized generation (DG) technologies and to study the extent to which DG can fill the demand-supply gap created by the limitation of grid extension.
TERI shall provide Technical Assistance for the EU-India Action Plan Support Facility Programme (APSF) - Environment Component
The training is given to selected participants from ITEC (Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation)/SCAAP (Special
TERI and Integarted Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) are already partners in taking LaBL forward in Koraput, Odisha. ITDA is supporting more than 200 tribal school hostels in the district. Children in these residential schools study in the light of dimly lit kerosene lamps during the evening hours. TERI has supported provision of solar lights in three of these schools.
The study in the nature of a scoping study with attention to gender roles in solar and biomass energy will be shared in a policy consultation with government agencies, womens organisations and civil society groups engaged in renewable energy and climate change.
As part of the on-going joint research study along with IEEJ (Institute for Energy Economics, Japan), TERI studied the e-filing system of India and the Japanese energy reporting system. TERI and IEEJ teams interacted with Japanese stakeholders on the salient features of their reporting system and Indian stakeholders for the improvements possible in the e-filing system.
The project aims to prepare a baseline document for fly ash utilization/ safe management in agriculture and waste land development.
