October 2, 2018

TERI with support from MacArthur Foundation released a project report during World Development Summit 2020 titled "Decentralized solar PV near the rural user end so as to minimize distribution losses" during the thematic session 'Managing Intermittency of Demand & Supply at Electricity Distribution-level at Gulmohar' for a study that looked at the operational aspect benefits of decentralised solar rooftops.

Third party quality assurance for four biogas plant in South Delhi Municipal Corporation

September 18, 2018

TERI has been appointed as an agency for third quality assurance of four biogas plants installed in SDMC (South Delhi Municipal Corporation). TERI would carry out quality inspection right from the beginning of planning, designing, engineering, procurement, supplying, installation, testing, commissioning and comprehensive operation and maintenance of four 5-TPD containerized bio-methanation plants for five years. These plants would be assured to treat the biodegradable waste and to generate electricity as well as organic manure.

Development of an Interface for Farm Level Carbon Footprint Estimation

August 23, 2018
| Environment
| Sustainable Agriculture
| Climate Change

The Project aim to estimate region specific carbon footprint of major agriculture products (rice, region specific horticulture crop, region specific spices) of India at the farm gate through  a user friendly tool to measure carbon footprint of farm products with lesser uncertainly level. TERI would be using a process-based model with the input from farmers and meteorological data for the purpose. This would facilitate the farmers to get higher price of their product in the international market.

TERI undertakes first-of-its-kind audit for South Delhi

A major concern of air pollution in Delhi is the road dust that is generated as suspended particles during cleaning the roads. Traditionally, sweeping of roads is done manually, which causes the dust to remain floating in the air for some time, thus increasing the amount of suspended particulate matter (SPM) in the air.

The two workshops being organized in Delhi and Sydney will bring together knowledge and expertise to discuss and address challenges and strategies for mainstreaming smart energy management in cities.

Evaluation and Validation of anticancer metabolites from Himalayan lichens and development of polymeric nanoformulation as potential cancer therapautic agent

June 21, 2018
| Health & Nutrition

The project aims to explore the chemical diversity of the natural products from Trans Himalayan region, in order to identify novel lichen-based anti-cancer agents. Lichens are unique microorganisms comprising of a fungal and an algal partner. The study is based on the evaluation and validation of anti-cancer compounds from lichens of Himalayan origin. The isolated metabolites will be screened for anti-cancer potential and cytotoxicity will be evaluated using cancer cell lines.
