The general objective of the project was to undertake an independent assessment on whether the utilization of groundwater by M/s PepsiCo India Holdings Pvt. Ltd, is affecting the water sources of the people of Pudussery Panchayat. The study had the following three specific objectives:
(a) whether groundwater extraction by M/s PepsiCo India Holdings Ltd. is depleting the water resources of the Pudussery Panchayat;
(b) whether there is a deterioration in the quality of groundwater due to PepsiCo¿s operations; and

Setting up of a test project on village energy security at village Jambupani, District Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, for electrification of village Jambupani on decentralised basis power generation. The project includes 2 Nos.of 10 kWe capacity biomass gasifier with 100% producer gas engine, biogas plants inclusive of all accessories and civil works and 97 Nos. of TERI model cook stoves.

The project aims at evaluating the programme of GOAL India whereby WATSAN facilities have been provided to 375 schools that are situated in difficult circumstancse in Kolkatta and neighbouring districts. The main objectives of the study are to : -
- Assess the impact of the programme on school enrolment attendance and retention
- Analyse the appropriateness of the school selection criteria
- Evaluate the O&M of the facilities provided under the project
- Provide recommendations for further improvement of the programme

In order to understand the viability of harnessing MSW-based power generation for enhancing their contribution to the Indian energy sector, it is important to understand the state-of-the-art technologies available across the globe along with all its auxiliary systems and components. The study would therefore focus on assessing the technological status available both internationally and in the country. An assessment of appropriateness of these technologies in the Indian context would be also conducted.
