ORCHID project: DFID-India Climate Risk Screening Process

Climate change is a threat to national and international development investments. Current climate-related hazards such as floods, drought, or cyclones already reduce the impact of poverty reduction interventions in India and elsewhere. Using OECD estimates, as much as 40% of DFID-I expenditure in India is potentially exposed to climate risks. Climate change impacts are likely to exacerbate many existing hazards and bring newer hazards such as temperature rise and sea-level rise to bear.Facilitation - Science and tech park study tour for Ghana and Senegal

The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, (UNDESA), New York, is supporting a project titled as `Planning for the development of Science and Technology Parks? in Ghana and Senegal, as both the countries are interested in growth of Science and Technology and also in the area of Agro-processing/Food processing research and certification systems. As part of the project, the UNDESA had proposed to expose a small group of 12 Government experts from Senegal and Ghana, for successful India examples of matching innovation with entrepreneurial activity.Renewing India

In the formation water samples (Six nos.) of Frio Formation from the Tom O'Connor Field provided by Glori, TERI determined the following:i. Presence of Microbial Flora suitable for Microbial enhanced oil recovery (MEOR) application.
ii. Ideal nutrient medium and standardization of growth parameters resulting in optimal conditions for MEOR application.
TERI also developed one seed culture and specific nutrient mixtures for the Tom O'Connor Field Frio Formation.
Integrated Action Plan to Make Gandhinagar a Solar City

CDM Training Program

TERI organized a half-day training program for senior officials of government of Haryana. The objective of the program was to sensitize the government officials about the CDM opportunities. The project largely focuses on developing action plans for regeneration of mine-degraded areas. In the first phase of the project, through experiments, interventions in agriculture and forestry aspects, mainly to choose the best crop or forestry species combination to replicate at a larger scale will be attempted.
