Physical examination of the Dighalipukhuri pond revealed trophic stratification and aquatic life including fishes. Realising the historical importance of the pond and aesthetics facilitation it was decided that natural remedial process would be helpful. The proposed two pronged strategy to enhance oxygenation and nutrient remedial are: (i) reduction of external nutrient load from septic tank effluent and surface runoff; and (ii) reduction of internal nutrient build up due to microbial metabolism of nuisance microbes.
