The Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, is preparing the National Report for the 18th Annual Session of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development.
The main objectives of the project are to examine the present level of energy consumption of the plant and equipment, to identify the energy saving potentials, and to suggest ways and means to improve the energy efficiency to have a signifcant effect on the economic performance of the plant through the reduction in variable costs.
The RESPONSES project addresses EU policy challenges by: developing new global low emissions scenarios, placing EU efforts in a global context; building an approach for assessing EU policies against mitigation and adaptation objectives and for developing alternative policy options; applying this framework in five EU policy sectors (water and agriculture, biodiversity, regional development/ infras
TERI organized its flagship event DSDS (Delhi Sustainable Development Summit), from 5-7 February 2010 in Hotel Taj Palace, New Delhi focusing on the overarching theme ‘Beyond Copenhagen: new pathways to sustainable development’. Tenth in the series, the summit received audience from all over the globe.
TERI in the past 2 decades has undertaken several community based projects in various sectors which have lead to creation of green jobs - as those directly tied to the production of green products or services. The objective of the present study is to primarily give a framework to evaluate the direct and indirect effects of the green jobs.
This study should support the overall work of UNIDO in the area of Renewable Energy with a focus on two countries of East-Africa viz. Ethiopia and Uganda. The overall objective of this study will be to contribute towards strengthening the local manufacturing sector in East-Africa to produce renewable energy technologies and/or systems.
The overall aim of the GEF supported project is to develop a market based approach, through public private partnerships, for promoting Small Hydro Power based mini-grids to stimulate productive capacities in the country. The objective of this assignment is to conduct an assessment of the proposed project to develop project brief and full document for funding under the GEF.
Nuclear power development has gained significant importance for India due to the growing need for energy and the limited energy resource options. And with climate change science pointing to unsustainable patterns arising from conventional fuel usage, there are very few choices that remain for India to take in order to meet its large-scale energy demands.
Building on the success of the first two India–Japan Energy Forums, TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute), India and NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization), Japan have decided to organize the 3rd India–Japan Energy Forum on 15–16 February 2010 in New Delhi.
Asian Cities Climate Chnage Resilience Network is working in 3 cities in India namely Surat, Indore and Gorakhpurto to conduct city risk assessment for climate chnage and stakeholder consultations to come up with resilience responses for the cities.
