Green hydrogen, hydrogen made from renewables, has the potential to provide solutions for decarbonisation of other hard to abate industrial sectors which are not amenable to electrification. Green hydrogen is made from renewable electricity and is necessarily more expensive than electricity. Its potential use, therefore, lies where electricity cannot replace fossil fuels. In a far-sighted move, India has launched an ambitious Hydrogen Mission.
