Oilzapper – Cleaning oil spills; healing earth

Oil spills do not allow the affected soil to absorb water, thereby harming the existing and future productivity of the land. Leading to high agricultural & livelihood losses, oil spills are a 21st century problem contributing greatly to soil pollution.

However, scientists are working to devise ways to deal with this problem in an eco-friendly, timely and inexpensive manner. TERI's Oilzapper is one such innovation, which breaks down oily sludge into harmless carbon dioxide and water.

This World Soil Day, let us celebrate such innovations that help #StopSoilPollution.
