The gender-energy-entrepreneurship nexus involves the challenges of engendering the energy value chain and the multifaceted challenges of empowering women through energy. It is widely acknowledged that access to a range of modern energy services would provide women the opportunity to operate and expand their enterprises, increase the stability of the business and customise their products to the demands of the market. These may also help to create a potential pathway for women’s empowerment through a shift in power relations that perpetuate inequalities. One such example is the enterprise of value-added products from marine fishing and their marketing by women’s collectives in coastal Gujarat.
