Regulatory Impact Assessment Project for CRC, University of Manchester
TERI is a partner of the CRC (Centre on Regulation and Competition), Institute for Development Policy and Management at the University of Manchester, UK. It has already undertaken a detailed exercise of mapping regulation in the telecom and electricity sectors in India also examined the existing framework in the water sector in India, though a formal regulatory mechanism does not exist in this sector. TERI also participated actively in the conferences organised by the CRC in U.K., Philippines and South Africa and presented the work undertaken by it in this project.
In this phase, TERI is conducting a questionnaire survey on regulatory governance in India and two neighbouring countries and gauge the extent of understanding and applicarion of tools to conduct Regulatory Impact Assessment.
