26 Aug 2013 22 Aug 2018

This collaborative project between TERI, New Delhi and Dr. HS Gour Central University, Madhya Pradesh aims to study the diversity of earthworms in different agro-climatic zones of India through DNA barcoding.
The overall objectives of this project are to:

Survey, collection, Identification and digital cataloging of earthworms species from different agro-climatic zones of India;

Molecular identification of the earthworms using COI gene marker and development of DNA library database;

Molecular phylogenetic analysis of earthworms for the agro-climatic zone investigated;

Offer advice and education in earthworms identification and DNA barcoding to students and professional biologists.
