Biodiesel feasibility study for Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd: Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh

Under this project, TERI would collaborate with HPCL for carrying out a feasibility study for Jatropha based biodiesel production in the states of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. The study would take into account, the policy environment in terms of not only the policy initiatives of the GoI, but also the policy initiatives adopted by the respective state govts. It would also evaluate different plantation models that could be developed for biodiesel production: 1. Private Farmers Land 2. Community land 3. Govt. Leased Land As agreed, the study would focus primarily on the private farmers land model in Rajasthan and on govt. leased land in Chhattisgarh. The study would also develop revenue statements for 15 years for the project and other key financial parameters.
