Application of ‘Green Bio Energy City’ Concept in Trincomalee City based on Integrated Solid Waste Management

The main objectives of this project are to:

Reduce climate change by reducing urban garbage accmulation and reduce methane generation;

Formulate a co-operative plan to manage domestic waste by empowering grass-root level community according to the win-win concept;

Programme stakeholders for the project sustainability;

Share the experience with other interested cities through city-to-city programme; and

Create a national climate change reducing policy by sharing proven experiences with the country policy-makers.
