This project designed a framework for a foundation to support environmental and social programmes in the mining belt of Goa. The project was taken up at the ‘Goa Mineral Ore Exporters Association’ (GMOEA) to assist them in setting up the said foundation. The foundation was registered on 12 December 2000.

@ Prepare an integrated state of the environment/policy retrospective for South Asia for 1972-2002 as an input to the third issue of the Global Environment Outlook report series launched by the UNEP
@ Provide the foundation for improved decision-making at all levels @ Increase awareness and understanding of environmental trends and conditions @ Facilitate the measurement of progress towards sustainability
@ Carry out field trials with petroleum coke as fuel in bull's trench kilns and clamps @ Evaluate environment and energy performance of these kilns @ Prepare guidelines for using petroleum coke as fuel in brick kilns
In order to document and assess the microbial diversity at various ecosystems, particularly polluted ones in the country, samples of microbial species from 14 different oil refineries located at multiple Indian geo-climatic regions have been grown, catalogued and preserved at TERI laboratories and disseminated to both the industry and research institutes.
@ Understand and promote CDM-related activities in Canada and Asia @ Shortlist two to four specific CDM projects on the basis of agreed selection criteria for detailed analysis and marketing to Canadian investors @ Interact and network with project partners and participate in international climate change negotiations
@ Prepare a rating framework for water supply and waste management services, using which municipal bodies would be assessed @ Create an analytical base that would help in prioritizing and target-setting by planners / decision makers, and self-monitoring by the urban agencies
@ Characterize rapeseed-mustard germplasm for glucosinolate diversity @ Identify low glucosinolate donor(s) from different Brassica spp. for use in breeding programmes
