Sacred natural sites have proven importance for the biodiversity conservation in India. In the proposed Energy Audit study the plant equipment / system such as Electrical system, Electric drives, Glass melting furnaces, Annealing Lehrs, Compressed air systems, fans and blowers, pumping system and cooling towers, Lighting (Plant and Residential area) has to be covered.
The project involves laboratory scale experiments for the degradation of chlorinated pesticides namely, Endosulfan and Lindane. Various chemical technologies like Fenton, Photocatalysis, Ozonation, Bimetallic reduction would be tried. The Degradation pathways and intermediates and end products would also be expolred and identified.
