Air pollution is a problem that has no immediate solution but will have to be constantly trying to reduce it. To deal with this, the government has also initiated several initiatives. For example, the Ujjwala scheme provides LPG fuel to the poor households who use solid biomass for cooking such as wood and cow dung. Pollution from the smoke emanating from it not only spreads but also has a bad effect on the health of women. Similarly, encouraging efforts are being made at various levels to promote low carbon technologies for power generation and transportation.
