The in-person session will see youth interact with H.E. Mr. Frans Timmermans on the aspects of science and policy ahead of COP26 that aims to drive climate action

On 20th October 2021, 03:45 PM - 04:45 PM IST

The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in collaboration with the European Union Delegation to India (EUD India) and GIZ is organising an interactive session where the youth interact with H.E. Mr. Frans Timmermans, European Commission Executive Vice-President for the European Green Deal ahead of COP26. The in-person event titled "Youth, Science and Climate Action" will be held on October 20, 2021 from 3:45 - 4:45 PM (IST) at the TERI Headquarters, India Habitat Center, New Delhi.

As the world gets together for global level climate negotiations, it is imperative to listen the voice of youth who are one of the key stakeholders in our efforts to further climate action and ambition.

The European Union is an important actor for driving climate ambition at the global level and the normative leadership of the EU is evident when it comes to discourses around the Green Deal and Climate Neutrality. EU and India are both important players on aspects related to climate diplomacy and international cooperation. Thus, it is essential that there is increased dialogue between EU and India, not just through official diplomatic channels but also involving the youth.
