Workshop on 'TERI-IGES Policy Research'

The Energy and Resource Institute (TERI) and the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES) will host the policy research workshop on 6-7 January 2015 to examine the success of and lacunae in existing policies, explore the possibilities of innovative and new actions, and outline the future course of dialogue between scientists, researchers and policy makers that could help develop a global and national policy landscape to meet the climate challenge in a timely manner.

The main objectives of the policy-workshop:

  • To obtain better understandings of scientific findings regarding the 2°C goal;
  • To share best practices and lessons learned from the mitigation policies on the ground in each region (Japan and India);
  • To provide researchers' inputs to policy makers with regard to additional actions and policies that key countries can take in order to bridge the emissions gap at the country, region and global levels;
  • To understand policy option for strengthening international collaboration towards realizing the 2°C goal
  • To draw up findings and recommendations for countries to take towards COP21 and beyond from policy researchers' perspectives.
