A total of 14 trainees registered for the training.

After a warm welcome and an inaugural ceremony, very informative lectures on "Introduction to Chromatography, Introduction to GLC, and Introduction to HPLC" were given by Dr Nutan Kaushik. This was followed by a practical demonstration of these instruments by Ms Rishu Kalra and Mr Zober Alam Khan.

The second day of the training was started with lecture on "Method Development in HPLC" given by Dr Yogesh Sharma, Waters India Pvt Ltd. After the lecture session, a practical session on all the techniques related to sample preparation and operations of HPLC and GC-MS (Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry) was given to trainees and was continued till 3rd day also for all the techniques.

On the third day of training, a very informative talk was given by Dr S K Raza, Director, Institute of Pesticide Formulation Technology (IPFT). He provided valuable information on applications of GC-MS and LC-MS (Liquid Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry) .

The fourth day of the training session was devoted to a visit to TERI, Gual Pahari, for a demonstration of facilities at the venue. A number of practical sessions had also been organized.

In addition to the practical sessions, lectures on "Better separation in GLC and HPLC" and "Application of LC-MS" were delivered by Mr Indrajit Sen and Mr Sachin Pandey from Agilent Technologies, India.
