Preparation of Project Design Document and Project Information Note for 4.5MW Hydro Power Project of Gokak Textiles Ltd under CDM

Objective of the project is to develop Project Design Document and Project Information Note for 4.5 MW Hydro Power Project near Belgaum, Karnataka, being undertaken by M/s Gokak Textiles Ltd. The power generated from the project would be used in the textile plant.

IGES CDM Capacity building in India for FY2008: Identification and development of CDM projects

DROP Integrated Watershed Development Project

This integrated watershed development project is proposed to be implemented in Joshu- Bhakru village of Semaltagad Micro-Watershed in Dehradun, Uttaranchal. The project aims to transform the target community into a model village as a replicable example of sustainable rural development. It will ensure long term availability of water resources for the rural community through interventions aimed at a catchment level rainwater harvesting and rejuvenation of traditional water harvesting systems.

Mainstreaming of thermal gasifier systems

The objective is to promote thermal gasifier technology in select clusters of namkeen- and koya-making industries and customizing the product to suit the selected application. The activities will be sustained by the selection of suitable LSPs (local service providers). With due capacity-building, the manufacturer and LSP would able to promote the market and take care of operation and maintenance. Further, strategic plan for replication of systems in the intervened sectors and establishment of QA and QC (Quality Assurance and Quality Control) measures will be done.

Competence network for small and micro enterprises - glass

To carry out a comprehensive energy audit study of the Durgapur Projects Limited with the following specific objectives: 1/ To carry out a detailed performance evaluation of major equipments and auxiliaries in the power plant with a view to identify thrust areas for energy conservation. 2/ To quantify the extent of energy savings/performance improvement that can be achieved. 3/ To recommend various technically sound and economically viable measures to improve the end-use energy efficiency.

Third party independent groundwater resources assessment of Pepsico India Holdings operations in Palakkad, Kerala

The general objective of the project was to undertake an independent assessment on whether the utilization of groundwater by M/s PepsiCo India Holdings Pvt. Ltd, is affecting the water sources of the people of Pudussery Panchayat. The study had the following three specific objectives:
(a) whether groundwater extraction by M/s PepsiCo India Holdings Ltd. is depleting the water resources of the Pudussery Panchayat;
(b) whether there is a deterioration in the quality of groundwater due to PepsiCo¿s operations; and
