'Enviro-Challenge'- a collection of quiz questions on the environment launched during Earth Day celebrations at TERI

At the Earth Day function organised by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), a book 'Enviro-Challenge', which is a compilation of quiz questions on various aspects of the environmental was launched by renowned polar explorer Sir Robert Swan.

Sir Robert Swan, OBE is a polar explorer, environmental leader and the first person ever to have walked to the North and South poles. He is an exceptionally gifted communicator and is regarded as one of the world’s top motivational speakers.

TERI University celebrates EARTH DAY

TERI University, celebrated Earth Day today in the presence of Mr Tulsi Tanti, Chairman, Suzlon Group, Dr RK Pachauri, Chancellor, TERI University, Mr Mark Kenber, CEO, The Climate Group and Dr Leena Srivastava, Vice Chancellor TERI University at the University campus in Vasant Kunj. Welcoming guests, Dr Srivastava highlighted the importance of Earth Day and explained how youth should be actively involved in sustainable development.

Seminar on 'Role of ICT in Sustainable Development – The Road Ahead' Organized by TERI and Dell

Under the flagship project Climate EduXchange, an initiative of TERI and Dell, the forum aims at harnessing the power of ICT (Information, Communication and Technology) to reach out to students and teachers on key issues related to Climate Change. Schools, colleges, academia representatives, NGOs, and youth organisations from across the globe participated in a day-long seminar that provided a platform to discuss and deliberate on the concerns on ICT and its efficacy in education and sustainable development.

TERI organises Eco-tourism programme in Mukteshwar to sensitise youth about environmental issues

In order to promote eco-tourism in Mukteshwar, TERI (The Energy and Resources Institute) organised an eco-tourism programme, where students from as far as Sharjah were apprised of environmental issues. Around 90 students and teachers from DPS Sharjah stayed in the eco-friendly environment in tents lit by solar lanterns .

New Greenhouse Gas Standards Unveiled for Corporate Value Chain and Products in India

The Greenhouse Gas Protocol launched two new standards today in New Delhi, India, to empower businesses to better measure, manage, and report their greenhouse gas emissions. Developed by the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) and Product Life Cycle Standards enable companies to save money, reduce risks, and gain competitive advantages. The launch event was hosted by WRI, WBCSD, and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), and followed by local training workshops on the new standards.

New Delhi, February 7, 2012: On the sidelines of the 12th Delhi Sustainable Development Summit (DSDS 2012), Day 2, the French Development Agency (AFD), The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI) released a book titled, Development, the Environment and Food: Towards Agricultural Change? The book is a part of the series, A Planet for Life, an annual publication on sustainable development prepared under the scientific leadership of leading figures in this field.
