1000 more drinking water units planned

Speaking at a State-level consultative workshop in Karnataka on implications of climate change on water and sanitation organised jointly by the United Nations Children's Fund and TERI, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Mr Raj HK Patil said that the present scheme of 1000 pure drinking water units may not suffice for the people in Karnataka. Hence, the government was proposing to increase the number and ensure that there is at least one pure drinking water unit in the jurisdiction
