New rating system for green areas

GRIHA LD, a new rating system for green large area developments, which will provide planning practices and guidelines to reduce the environmental impact of large-scale developments. The ministry of new and renewable energy in collaboration with TERI and Association for Development and Research of Sustainable Habitats (ADARSH) launched GRIHA LD at the 4th edition of the ministry's flagship event 'National Conference on Green Design'.

New green building rating to be introduced

The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation will introduce a new green building rating system wherein a building constructed on plot area below 2500 sq m can obtain the rating. The standing committee has approved a resolution to start the system. The resolution stated that the civic body had started the system of green rating for integrated habitat assessment (GRIHA) in the municipal limits to promote construction of green buildings on plots which have an area of more than 2500 sq m.
