Energy intensive industries in Pasakha, Chukha (Bhutan) can reap huge returns from installing waste heat recovery measures, a National Environment Commission Secretariat (NECS) study says. NECS and TERI studied the energy efficiency of three industries, calcium carbide, steel rolling mill, and ferro-silicon in Pasakha between March and October 2016.

High-tech wireless sensors that measure cook stove usage can make cleaner cooking technologies more affordable for the global poor, a study finds. The recent guidelines proposed by a panel of the Transport Ministry on taxis will help in combating vehicular pollution by reducing number of private vehicles on the roads, TERI has said. Amid worsening air quality in Delhi, TERI has released a ten-point emergency response plan, including reduction of crop burning and ban on movement of all 10-year-old vehicles in the Delhi-NCR amongst others. TERI has submitted the plan to Delhi government and the Union Environment Ministry, recommending that it be enforced immediately in whole of NCR on forecast days of very high pollution.
