Capacity Building and Awareness Generation workshop on Organic Bio-Methanation (Biogas) and its applications
TERI, under the project "Organic Waste Streams for Industrial Renewable Energy Applications in India," implemented by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), with support from the Global Environment Facility (GEF), is organizing “Capacity Building and Awareness Generation Workshops on Organic Bio-Methanation (Biogas) and its Applications” for banks, financial institutions, biogas/CBG plant developers, and other relevant stakeholders across nine states of India. The venue cities are Lucknow, Chandigarh, Pune, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Delhi NCR, Guwahati, and Hyderabad, and the workshops will take place between September and November 2025.
Each workshop will be a one-day training programme, comprising eight sessions that cover an overview of the sector, technical aspects, financial viability, regulatory frameworks, and case studies and success stories of bio-methanation plants in India. The programme will also demonstrate the Risk Analysis Checklist for Biogas Projects to help identify and mitigate project risks and will conclude with an interactive Q&A and feedback session. Tea, coffee, and lunch will be provided to all participants.
Importantly, as these trainings are part of a funded project, there are no charges applicable to the participants. Further, upon successful completion of the training, all participants will be issued participation certificates.
The objective of this workshop is to equip finance professionals and other stakeholders with the necessary knowledge and skills, and to create awareness and build capacity for the promotion of the CBG ecosystem by bringing together key stakeholders, entrepreneurs, and government officials on a common platform.
