Recognising fiscal constraints, the report explores policy and regulatory interventions that would encourage private investment to provide a green stimulus to economic recovery in India.

Green Stimulus Report Launch

TERI is releasing a Discussion Paper on A Fiscally Responsible Green Stimulus on 24th August, 2020 from 4-5 pm. In the context of the Government of India's economic recovery package, the paper suggests measures in six key areas that would accelerate India's transition to a cleaner and lower carbon economy, create jobs, and promote sustainable livelihoods.

The event will be launched by chief guest Shri Prakash Javadekar, Hon'ble Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change; Information and Broadcasting; and Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, through a video message.

This will be followed by special remarks delivered by invited speakers Shri Indu Shekhar Chaturvedi, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, India; Mr TN Ninan, Chairman, Business Standard Ltd; and Mr Simon J. Stolp, Country Lead (India), Energy and Extractives at the World Bank Group. Mr Govindraj Ethiraj, Founder, IndiaSpend, FactChecker.In, BOOM, will deliver the concluding remarks.
