The project aims to formulate and implement a comprehensive framework alongside an associated pilot initiative, integrating cutting-edge Real-Time Data Acquisition Systems (RTDAS) and reservoir inflow forecasting. The overarching goal is to equip Bhutan with the capability to accurately forecast reservoir inflow on an hourly basis, generated daily with a lead time of 72 hours, specifically tailored for the operational needs of the Chhukha Hydropower Plant.

India lies at the heart of the Central Asian Flyway—a major migratory route spanning over 30 countries, from Russia to the British Indian Ocean Territory. With over 90% of the flyway’s bird species using stopover sites within its borders, India plays a pivotal role in their conservation. To safeguard these migratory birds and their habitats, the country has adopted a dedicated National Action Plan.
