The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in association with Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Urban Development and Water Sanitation Program of The World Bank kick started the three day ‘India Water Forum’ (IWF) on the theme, ‘Water Use Efficiency’ at the Vigyan Bhawan today.
Baroness Verma, Member of the House of Lords and Junior Minister, Department of Energy and Climate Change, Govt. of the U.K and Dr. R.K. Pachauri, Director General, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) today visited Village Tanda of Jagdishpur block- a TERI intervention site. They inaugurated a solar micro-grid connection (SMG) for provision of household lighting and forced draft improved biomass cookstoves for 20 households.
TERI hosted the Twelfth Darbari Seth Memorial Lecture at the India Habitat Centre on 22 August 2013. On this occasion, both stressed on the need to leverage emerging technologies to broad base education and especially the areas that have a long term impact on sustainable development.
In an endeavor to upscale and induce wider participation of developers and users for energy efficient housing, Association for Development and Research of Sustainable Habitats (ADARSH, a joint initiative of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and The Energy and Resources Institute) and National Housing Bank (NHB) signed a memorandum of understanding today. The website for the program on Energy efficient Homes was also launched during the event by the Hon’ble Secretary.
Global think-tank The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in association with Container Corporation of India ( CONCOR) will undertake an integrated and holistic village development program in the select villages of Himachal Pradesh, focusing on Apple Orchard Management. A first of its kind initiative for graduate and post-graduate students, the programme was launched by actor and youth icon Purab Kohli and preeminent polar explorer Robert Swan, OBE.

Today the WRI India, The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) launched the India Greenhouse Gas Program (India GHG Program), a voluntary initiative to standardize measurement and management of GHG emissions in India.
