'Need to move from Planet of the Apes to Planet of the Apps'

At the 18th Darbari Seth Memorial Lecture, India's principal scientific adviser stressed on democratisation of knowledge

Speaking on 'Science and Technology in the Anthropocene', Dr K VijayRaghavan, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India dwelt on important topics such as evolution, the industrial revolution, development, and climate change-related issues. Dr VijayRaghavan delivered the 18th Darbari Seth Memorial Lecture at Stein Auditorium in India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, on August 27, 2019. His wide-ranging talk also touched upon the current issues facing science studies in India such as state funding, role of women in the fields of science and technology, and democratisation of knowledge.
