Empowering C3 Through Advanced Knowledge Management: A TERI KRC Consultancy

TERI’s Knowledge Resources Centre (KRC) partnered with the Centre for Catalyzing Change (C3) to deliver an end-to-end consultancy for the design and implementation of a state-of-the-art Knowledge Management (KM) System. The collaboration focused on bridging the gap between vast information reserves and actionable insights by operationalizing a robust Knowledge Management/Digital Library (KM/DL) architecture.

Mapping and Categorisation

To ensure the system reflected C3’s specific needs, TERI KRC began with an extensive stakeholder consultation process to identify and map the organization’s diverse knowledge assets. This resulted in:

  • Custom Taxonomy Development:
A bespoke classification system designed in tandem with C3 project leads to align with their unique thematic areas.
  • Structured Content Architecture:
The systematic categorization of documents into thematic groups for intuitive navigation.
  • Optimized Retrieval:
The design of specialized metadata templates and rigorous testing of sample documents to guarantee data consistency and high retrieval efficiency.

Technical Deployment and Capacity Building

Beyond being the architecture, planning and ideation, TERI KRC served as a technical bridge during the deployment phase, providing expert guidance to C3’s IT team to ensure a seamless system rollout.

Recognizing that technology is only as effective as the people who use it, the consultancy concluded with a series of capacity-building workshops. These sessions were designed to empower C3 staff with the skills needed to maintain and navigate the platform, fostering strong institutional ownership and ensuring the long-term, sustainable adoption of the Knowledge Management System.
