Ms. Neha Sharma is an Associate Fellow and Area Convenor at the Centre for Forest Management and Governance (CFMG) within the Land Resources Division at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). She works in the areas of natural resource management, voluntary carbon markets, forest governance, forest landscape restoration (FLR), and climate vulnerability assessments of forest ecosystems and forest-dependent communities.
She is actively involved in the development and implementation of carbon finance and Nature-based Solutions (NbS) projects, including agroforestry-based carbon initiatives, as well as feasibility assessments for forest carbon projects. Her research also covers biodiversity conservation strategies, restoration finance models, and climate vulnerability assessments of forest ecosystems and communities.
Ms. Sharma has expertise in Minor Forest Produce value chains and market studies and has worked on the biofuel potential of Pongamia pinnata. She has also contributed to biodiversity baseline assessments and the design of corporate biodiversity strategies and site-specific ecological interventions.
Ms. Sharma is skilled in GIS-based analysis, stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and technical reporting. She holds a master’s degree in forestry from the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Urban Environmental Management and Law from the Centre for Environmental Law (CEL), WWF‑India.
