CleanUP Port Blair: A City's Battle for a Cleaner Future | Under the CCPME Initiative

Port Blair, the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is battling a growing plastic crisis that threatens its delicate marine ecosystem. Under the CCPME (Cities Combatting Plastic entering the Marine Environment) project, the CleanUP Port Blair initiative is uniting the city’s citizens, schools, and institutions to reduce waste, promote segregation, and revive marine hotspots.

From clean-up drives at Junglighat, R.K. Mission, and Carbyn’s Cove to school-led expos, zero-waste campaigns, and training for waste workers and fishermen, the initiative is building an island-wide movement for change.
