Techno-feasibility study of drill-cutting bioremediation at drilling installations of Cairn India

TERI carried out a pilot study with CEIL to determine the feasibility of bioremediation of drill cutting and was able to bring down the hydrocarbon level below the permissible limits. Based on the initial lab results and a pilot scale field trials in the CEIL drill site, this proposal intend to upscale the study with a larger volume of wastes (drill cuttings) and propose to TERI to determine the techno-commercial feasibility of bioremediation of drill cuttings/ oil contaminated wastes that will be generated from exploration and production operations. Further it will also be attempted to assess the fertility of the treated wastes for the possibility of developing green belts.
