National Conference 'Regulatory Performance in India: Achievements, Constraints and Future Action' (November 9-10, 2006)

17 Apr 2006 28 Feb 2007
As part of its efforts to further the regulatory reform process in India, TERI is organizing a National Conference on 'Regulatory Performance in India: Achievements, Constraints and Future Action' on November 9-10, 2006 at Silver Oak, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The event primarily aims to assess the performance of regulatory reforms in India's infrastructure sectors, identify the implementation constraints and draw a roadmap for future action. It would provide a forum for appraising regulatory performance on some crosscutting issues in the infrastructure sector. These issues pertain to the regulator's role in attracting private participation, enabling a competitive environment, implementing universal access, ensuring non-discriminatory tariffs and protecting consumer interests. Relevant international case studies would also be highlighted in each plenary session, so as to draw experiences and learning for regulatory reforms in India.
