Integrated Energy Management Master Plan for Bhutan

The main objective of the project is to develop an Integrated Energy Master Plan for the Royal Government of Bhutan. Project activities consists of demand and resource data collection, analysis of the energy scenario, and projection of energy demand and supply scenarios till 2020. The project team will also study energy policies of the Royal Government of Bhutan and recommend policy initiatives for sustainable development. Besides this, the project activities included design and establishment of energy laboratory including design of its building using energy efficient green building design principles, establishment of wind masts and weather stations for data collection, GIS based interactive energy atlas for the country, development and implementation of Energy Management Information Systems for the Department of Energy, capacity building and training in renewable energy and energy efficiency areas.
