Dissemination workshop on Unlocking Oppertunities for Forest Dependent people

The Ministry of Environment and Forests and the Orissa Forest Department in association with TERI and DfID has organized a two-day workshop on Unlocking Opportunities for Forest Dependent People at Bhubaneswar from April 11-12, 2006. The workshop was amongst a series of workshops organized to disseminate the key findings of a national report titled "Unlocking Opportunities for Forest Dependent People in India", which outlined enabling factors for a more efficient community-based management of forests. The workshop also intended to serve as a platform for sharing best practices and experiences in the area of participatory forestry, both from within India and abroad.
