Advisory Services for various energy efficiency and energy conservation programmes such as Energy Audit, Implementation Assistance, Training programme, etc.

Energy forms an important component of Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) budget. BBMP is availing advisory services of TERI for various energy efficiency and energy conservation programmes such as Energy Audit, Implementation Assistance, Training programme, etc., for improvement of street lighting systems and electrical systems in other installations. This is proposed through review of present practices and proposing energy efficiency measures and best practices in operation and maintenance aspects as well as integration of energy efficiency systems in new street lighting systems, introduction of safety practices and capacity building and training.

The scope of services covers the following activities:

- Energy Efficiency improvement option through audit of sample circuits
- Helping BBMP in developing tender for implementation of ECO (Energy Conservation Opportunities) based on findings of energy audit of 50 installations
- Review of up-gradation proposal and standardised approaches for street lighting system
- Advisory services for development of new Annual Maintenance Contract/Operation & Maintenance tender for street lighting system for 2008 onwards incorporating Energy Efficiency parameters and driving towards better benchmarked services
- Awareness programme and capacity building for development of standardised sheets for Energy accounting
