BESS is ideal for speed, while LDES is critical for long-duration energy needs, said Mr Alekhya Datta, Fellow & Director, Electricity & Renewables Division. He noted that LDES is better suited for supplying power beyond six hours to multiple days, especially during prolonged peak demand, low renewable output, and grid stress events.
