The intensive program for Indian foresters is now in its fourth year at Yale. Officers of the Indian Forest Service arrived on the Yale campus 21 July for the course that is part of a partnership between the Global Institute of Sustainable Forestry at Yale, TERI University, and the Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy acting under the auspices of the union ministry of environment and forests.

There was a possibility of a flood-like situation occurring in the low-lying areas of Mumbai, the Maharashtra government told the state Legislative Council, citing a TERI report. In his written reply to a question raised by an NCP legislator about the possibility of a 26 July 2005 type flood striking Mumbai again, State Environment Minister Mr Sanjay Deotale informed the House that TERI has warned about a possible recurrence in its primary report submitted to the state government.
