Read moreThe University of South Florida's Patel College of Global Sustainability has awarded its first Eminent Global Scholar in Sustainability Award to Dr R K Pachauri, chair of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Dr Pachauri, who has served as the IPCC chair since 2002, was given the award in recognition of his extraordinary accomplishments in advancing the science and understanding of climate change and international policy.
Largest domestic stainless steel producer Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL), in collaboration with TERI, has developed an environment- friendly maintenance-free gas stove, priced at Rs 3200. The stove which is made up of mix of 200 and 300 series stainless steel ensures high reduction in toxic emissions during cooking and has longer life and better corrosion resistance in adverse village environment and at the same time is economically affordable, JSL said in a statement.
