About the Programmes

Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs) under the Department of Science & Technology scheme are designed to train potential entrepreneurs—primarily individuals holding a degree or three-year diploma in Science and Technology—through a structured curriculum over a specified duration. WEDP and TEDP are cohort-based, custom-designed technical entrepreneurship training program for graduates in science and technology domains with a focus on innovation and impact. WEDP is a structured 4-week program, while TEDP spans 6 weeks.

25-30 trainees will be selected for each programme through online registration followed by personal interviews (if required).

Women Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (WEDPs) Many women face challenges in managing various aspects of business—such as client handling, communication, funding, credit applications, and marketing. Access to quality advisory and training can empower women running small family-owned businesses or those aspiring to start their own ventures.

This free training programme, led by expert trainers, will help participants identify suitable business ideas, understand key steps, and build essential skills to evaluate and run a business.

WEDP selects potential women entrepreneurs for a structured 4-week online training. The programme combines theory, practical exercises, and case-based discussions to ensure holistic learning.

Eligibility

  • Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Science/Engineering/Technology
  • Age should be between 21-40 years
  • Women only

25-30 trainees will be selected through online registration followed by personal interviews (if required).

Technology-based Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (TEDPs) focus on imparting technology-specific skills alongside entrepreneurial knowledge, tailored to particular technology domains. The programme provides training on all aspects of entrepreneurship, motivation, and management areas in addition to actual hands-on training in specific technology areas.

Solar Technology-Based Entrepreneurship Development Programme (TEDP) aims to apprise the participants about the intricacies of how to start and manage a solar enterprise. The trainees will also be acquainted with the necessary knowledge and skills to assist in preparing a detailed business plan.

This free training programme will be conducted with the help of well-trained experts.

Methodology

The programme is delivered through a combination of lectures, presentations, case studies, and interactive discussions. In addition to faculty from TERI, the programmes will feature guest speakers, including eminent experts and practicing entrepreneurs, to provide real-world insights and mentorship..
