TERI organized a regional workshop on 'Towards a Resource Efficient Auto Component Manufacturing in India', on December 17, 2016 at Hotel Grand Exotica, Chinchwad, Pune. The workshop was organized as part of TERI's ongoing project titled 'Resource Efficiency Initiative India: A Case Study of the Automotive Sector' supported by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) with GIZ as the lead implementing partner. It focussed largely on issues related to pilot implementation of interventions for achieving resource efficiency in companies selected for the project.

The workshop was well attended by representatives from GIZ, ACMA, cluster companies that showcased their implemented Resource Efficiency & Cleaner Production (RECP) and use of secondary material Towards a Resource Efficient Auto Component Manufacturing in India', initiatives as part of knowledge sharing activities. In addition to this, TERI, ACMA and GIZ talked about the overall project background, ongoing activities, project progress, and future directions. The workshop was lauded by the participants who requested for more such workshops to be organized for them in future.
