Government officials, academics, as well as researchers were among the participants from several developing countries of Asia, Africa, and Latin America. It was conducted at TERI Gram, Gual Pahari, Gurgaon. This course attempted at sensitizing the participants on the issues and challenges pertaining to self-sufficiency and security in natural resources for economies including possible opportunities to address them. The course covered topics like natural resource economics, trade in natural resources, laws and regulations on trans-boundary resources, governance issues, climate change conflicts, etc. Sector experts in minerals, water and energy also discussed issues around resource security in relation to each of these sectors with the participants. Apart from TERI's in-house experts, some of the leading Indian experts on these issues joined the programme as resource persons. The classroom sessions were designed to make them interactive and the participants found them fruitful. As part of the course the international participants were taken to Khetri copper mines for a field visit. They were also taken for Delhi local sightseeing, Agra and Jaipur sightseeing. Good feedback was received from the participants about the course conduct and content, and a few of them expressed desire to connect with TERI beyond this programme.
