The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) supported by the IKEA Foundation, has undertaken a unique multi-year programme, “Sustainable energy in Micro-enterprises for Income & Livelihood Enhancement (SMILE)”, with the principle objective to promote the use of renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies in micro-enterprise clusters to improve productivity and enhance the income of entrepreneurs, thereby improving their lives & livelihoods.

TERI is organising the first state-level workshop under the SMILE project on 2nd November in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The event titled ‘Promoting clean energy for micro-enterprises in Uttar Pradesh- pathways for just transition and livelihoods’ will bring together stakeholders from government agencies, private players, local energy enterprises, academia, research and development, among others to deliberate on how holistic interventions comprising technology innovation, financing models, market linkages, capacity building, and strong partnerships could provide pathways for achieving the transition to clean energy along with livelihood enhancement in the micro-enterprise clusters in Uttar Pradesh.

The event will be held at Hotel Fortune, Hazratganj, Lucknow between 11 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.
