Book Launch: Green Transport

TERI Press launched a new book on alternative energy in transport titled 'Green Transport: Eco-Friendly Travel for a Better Tomorrow' on March 22, 2016 in the Juniper Hall, India Habitat Centre. Authored by Rani Iyer, the book presents the history and environmental impacts of transportation. It also explores alternative ways of travel and transport that cause minimal harm to the environment, use less fuel, and reduce congestion.

On the occasion of the book launch, a panel discussion was also organized on 'Hopeful Future: Alternative Energy and Transportation'. The panellists for the discussion included Dr Manoj Singh, Adviser (Transport), NITI Aayogon; Ms Lata Vaidyanathan, Director, TERI Prakriti School; and Mr Vijay Chhibber, Former Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

Delivering the keynote address on the occasion of the book launch, Dr Ajay Mathur, Director General, TERI, stated that each transport decision should be made wisely. He also presented copies of the newly launched book to the principals and teachers of leading schools of Delhi who attended the event.
