This is a collaborative project with MoEF for celebrating World Wetlands Day, on 2nd Feb, 2007. The project activities aim to generate a broader awareness amongst the society, on the need for conservation of wetlands, and the role that these play in providing several environmental services for our well being.

BBMB’s Biodiesel Initiative: Establishing high quality Jatropha plantations at Talwara, Punjab

The major objectives of the project are plantation of Jatropha curcas in 300 ha area at Talwara, Punjab for biodiesel production, improve fertility and productivity of the degraded and fallow land, generate employment for the local community, capacity building of BBMB staff on various aspects of Jatropha cultivation, nursery establishment of Jatropha curcas at the plantation site.
Research on key issues in climate change negotiations

The project provids inputs and assist the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India on issues in climate change negotiations by review of the 4th National Communication of Annex I countries and the progress with their emission reduction commitments, looking in scientific and technological aspects in climate change mitigation and adaptation as covered in the forthcoming IPCC AR4.

Integrated Water Management for upcoming large textile dyeing industry in southern India involved to look in to every aspect of water and wastewater. The critical evaluation of ETP design for zero discharge with a key objective of recommending suitable technology with optmised initial investment and operating expenses.
