The main objective of electricity industry is to achieve customer satisfaction through generation of electricity of the right quality and quantity at an affordable cost, by several critical tasks that require skilled engineers, supervisors, and managers etc. The technical knowledge and skills pioneered over the years need to be supplemented with applied engineering and managerial skills. These skills are to be regularly updated to cope with the ever progressing and rapidly advancing technologies being introduced in the power sector where the speed of obsolescence often overtakes the pace of acquisition of a particular skill. TERI offers to provide the services to assist Department of Power, Arunachal Pradesh (DoP-AP) - for organizing a Learning and Development Program (LDP), a dynamic process which enables officials of DoP-AP to develop the critical social and technical capacities to identify and analyze problems as well as proffer solutions to them through on-site visits to developed economies like Japan and South Korea to enable the participating officers of DoP-AP interact with experts in the Japanese and/or South Korean electric utilities, research institutes and other organizations of competent and imminent technologies and individualistically experience successful implementation of policies and technologies that can be suitably adapted to Indian subcontinent.
