Tetra Pak - Building towards a better tomorrow

Perfetti Van Melle India launches solar electrification project with TERI

Perfetti Van Melle India (PVM India) has announced the launch of its Solar Electrification Project in Uttarakhand. Under this project PVM India has collaborated with TERI and effectively implemented one solar charging station at Dugari Khatta 1, which comes under Gram Panchayat of Biriya Block, Khatima District of Udham Singh Nagar. For these villages, Perfetti has supported the distribution of LED lanterns for 50 households. This project is expected to light up the lives of over 250 people

First part of TERI's survey of Indian cities released in Mumbai

An environmental survey of 1010 Mumbaiites by TERI has found among other things that 62% of total respondents feel that the environment and development were conflicting in nature. The survey that was carried out in six major cities, namely Mumbai, Bengaluru, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Chennai aimed at gauging people's perception, behaviour, awareness and opinions pertaining to environmental issues.

TERI sets 15 million sq. m target for green building projects

TERI will work towards making the targeted area in govt and private buildings GRIHA-compliant in the next three years. GRIHA, an acronym for Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment, is the national rating system for green buildings in India. The energy savings through the GRIHA initiatives, TERI said in a release, will be sufficient to light up at least 200,000 urban homes and provide solar water heating to 67,500 urban homes cumulatively

Delhi yet to find its place under the sun

The low awareness levels can be gauged by the fact that people don't even make provisions for solar fixtures for future use when building new houses, said Dr Prodipto Ghosh, an expert with TERI.
